Nuclear Propulsion

nuclear propulsion... What can we say? The point is I know of only one particular design for nuclear rockets ( although I'm certain many exist ) called " Orion " which consists of a very large metal plate lofted to orbit by exploding low yield atomic bombs underneath it . (more) I must admit I have always imagined the design of the nuclear spacecraft like the " Discovery " in Clarke ' s 2001 . But alas I know the ship will not have the streamlined design .
