I'll be in vacation soon, in the meantime here's another article.Message : As far as I am Aware , The RAF Night Bombers ( we did bomb during the daytime too!)never flew in formation like the combat wings of the 8th USAAF . (more) Well , when you consider that we were flying at max gross weight for takeoff ( 11,600 pounds ) and we were flying in the thin air above 20,000 feet there isn't exactly a whole lot of performance margin available .
